As Part of the Department
As a Senior Software Developer at EG Vigilo, you will be a central contributor in the continued development of Norway's leading childhood and education administration system (OAS) - a system connecting kindergartens, schools, after-school programs, and parents across Norway, used daily by over 180,000 unique users.
EG Vigilo is built on modern cloud services and a scalable microservice architecture serving municipalities, schools, and kindergartens nationwide. You will join a dedicated in-house team and work closely with architects, designers, and product owners to deliver high-quality, long-lasting solutions.
AI is a strategic focus area in the company, and you will actively contribute to exploring and adopting new tools that strengthen the development workflow and raise the quality of what we deliver.
Your Tasks: Develop, Collaborate, and Innovate
Backend development in C#/.NET: You design, develop, and extend backend systems based on C# and .NET with a strong focus on code quality, performance, and maintainability.
Microservice architecture: You actively work to develop and improve our microservice-based platform.
Technical problem-solving: You are able to navigate complex, existing systems and find well-considered solutions to demanding technical challenges without losing sight of the big picture.
Code quality and professional contribution: You take an active part in code reviews, help raise the technical level of the team, and share knowledge and best practices with your colleagues.
Cross-functional collaboration: You work closely with Solution Architects, Software Developers, and product owners to ensure solutions are technically sound and meet business needs.
AI and innovation: You are curious about AI-assisted development tools and contribute to exploring how these can be used to streamline workflows and improve the platform.
You Are the Ideal Candidate If
You have minimum 5 years of software development experience, with a strong background in C# and .NET Framework.
You have solid experience with microservice architecture and distributed systems.
You have good understanding of API design, integration patterns, and data management.
You have experience with backend and database performance optimization.
You have the ability to get up to speed and work effectively in large, existing codebases.
You have experience with frontend technologies such as React and TypeScript is an advantage.
You have relevant education in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent or equivalent competence gained through practice.

You communicate well with colleagues at all levels both in writing and verbally.
You are analytical and enjoy complex technical challenges.
You take ownership of your solutions and care about delivering quality.
You are a good team player who contributes to a strong professional community.
